Rapper Fetty Wap Arrested on Federal Drug Charges

UPDATE: Fetty Wap has been released from prison on $500,000 bond.

On Friday, Nov. 5, the rapper was granted bond on the condition that he wear a GPS monitor, undergo random drug testing and surrender his passport, according to court documents obtained by E! News. Additionally, the documents state that the federal judge gave the artist permission to travel so long as he obtains prior approval of pre-trial services and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

UPDATE: During his virtual arraignment on Oct. 29, Fetty Wap entered a plea of not guilty. Federal prosecutors asked that he be detained pretrial, which the defense did not contest.

His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 24.

Fetty Wap has found himself in a legal situation.

According to a law enforcement source, FBI agents arrested the rapper, born William Junior Maxwell II, on Thursday Oct. 28 at CitiField in connection with federal drug charges.

The arrest happened hours before Fetty was expected to perform at the Rolling Loud music festival in New York. A rep for the festival told TMZ they had no prior knowledge of the artist’s legal issues.

According to a press release from the Department of Justice, Fetty along with other defendants are accused of conspiring to distribute and possess controlled substances.
